bug_report_tiny.png 15:23  Bug report FC-23 - Links on the category page are missing /category/ from the url.
Guest user (guest) : Issue created
This started happening just recently. The links on the category page go to just the category slug without the necessary /category/ base, ie the link will be: www.sample.com/56 which ends up getting a 404, when it should be www.sample.com/category/56. I thought it might be a redirection from a plugin or httaccess, but I couldn't find any. Any ideas?

Hi
First of all Thanks you very much for creating this unique plugin, this is the only one plugin for categories i have found. I am using this plugin and found very helpful.

Please add the following features

1. Load more categories, if someone choose "How many categories do you want to display?" and fill 20 categories from 100 categories, their should be a which shows "select load categories button style" after that

2. and also add some more layout in this plugin

3. one more feature to add is social sharing and visitor count, view count, likes dislikes

Thanks and Regards

Isn't it better to get category url using get_category_link( $term_ID ) than site_url()."/?cat=".$term_ID? This will generate permalink.

bug_report_tiny.png 10:34  Bug report FC-15 - Works on one site, not on another. Both same theme, same plugins, but different servers.
Tim Houghton (thoughton) : Issue created
I have two development blogs, both using the same theme, same version of wordpress, and same versions of TSP Easy Dev and TSP Featured Categories.

On one site TSP Featured Categories works normally. On the other TSP fatured categories only displays 2 categories and thumbnails, no matter how many I tell it to display. (There are 5 categories that are marked as 'Featured').

This one works: http://digitalhub.drench-development.com/_wp/?page_id=70

This one does not: http://www.digitalhub.media/home/

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi

I'm having a problem with your wordpress plugin "Featured Categories".

I get the following error message when trying to use the widget:-
Fatal error: Call to a member function get_value() on a non-object in /home/site/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tsp-easy-dev/classes/TSP_Easy_Dev_Widget.class.php on line 86

I've already installed and activated the "(TSP) Easy Dev" plugin.

Can you help me please?

Thanks

Ian

Currently listing multiple category IDs for display only allows for category IDs to be separated by a comma with no space. Change the code to make it so that spaces are allowed.

enhancement_tiny.png 19:07  Enhancement FC-9 - CSS not that easy to work with
ericjt (ericjt) : Issue created
Hi. I have been working to get this to fit into a widget area that is used in the DW-Focus theme to assemble elements of the home page, which consists largely of widget areas. I find that when I insert the featured cats shortcode in a text widget the styling is kind of messed up. I have worked out css overrides to make it work but I would hope it would not be needed. Idk if it's something about this theme, but the stock css for your plugin made it hard to fix. You can see before and after examples at [[http://www.nextinthewest.com|http://www.nextinthewest.com]].

There's one with stock css and below it one with my own css. Here's the css I used:

<source lang="css">#text-2 .textwidget .row {
margin-left: -15px !important;
margin-right: -72px !important;
}
.textwidget .row #category {
width: 28% !important;
padding: 0 15px 0 15px !important;
}</source>

and here's the shortcode:

<source lang="html">[tsp-featured-categories number_cats="3" cat_ids="21,27,1" hide_desc="N" max_desc="60" layout="0" box_width=230 box_height=300 order_by="count" thumb_width="230" thumb_height="150" before_title="" after_title=""]</source>

I only have images set up for one of the categories at the moment.

If you use firebug you can see the difference in the margins and padding between the two.

Perhaps the stock styling can be improved so it would look better without fiddling. I haven't tried it with other themes, but was having issues with this one. Granted, they are largely solved, but it took some work.

This is a biggie. A lot of users expect to click on images like this to get to the item, post or category being mentioned. Currently, there is just the linked category title.

Thanks for considering this.

A styling luxury.
enhancement_tiny.png 21:11  Enhancement FC-6 - Replace shortcode setting with shortcode generator
ericjt (ericjt) : Issue created
Hi,

I see it currently has a way to input default settings so one just uses a short shortcode to insert the feature in a page or post, etc. Some other plugins I have used have a shortcode generator, where you use a for such as you have to enter your settings for one instance of the result and click a button and you are presented with a properly formatted shortcode for that specific application of those settings. As it is now with the plugin, you have the default settings, which is handy for one instance, but for multiples such as I suggested - and thanks again for adding the new functionality! - it would be handy to have that longer code formatted automatically using a form instead of doing it by hand. Just a thought. Perhaps a luxury, but it might lead somewhere.

feature_request_tiny.png 18:29  Feature request FC-5 - Want multiple rows of categories
ericjt (ericjt) : Issue created
Hi,

I want to use the featured category plugin for wp so that it forms a grid on a page or in a wide widget area inserted in a page. I would like three across and as many rows as possible. Is there, or will there be, a way to specify by id which category is placed where, and to use a specific short code for each row in this grid, or somehow have the shortcode form new rows after x number of categories?

As multiple shortcodes, it would maybe look like this on the page:

[tsp-featured-categories enable_rows="yes" cats_per_row="3" cat_order="34,45,21,23,24,19"]

which would produce two rows of three category blocks.

Alternately, it would be nice to be able to use multiple shortcodes in the same page to create the same layout:

[tsp-featured-categories cat_order="34,45,21"]
[tsp-featured-categories cat_order="23,24,19"]

or laid out like this: [tsp-featured-categories cat_1="23" cat_1="24" cat_1="19"]

Thanks for looking into this.
